Carvers Cottage Wedding : Aly & Matt

August 26, 2016

When Aly & Matt asked me to photograph their wedding at Carvers Cottage, I was over-the-moon.  Not only are they such a great couple, but I’ve gotten to get to know their family and their story throughout the past year.  Aly & Matt are world travellers, romance lovers, and genuinely good people.  Matt popped the question in front of the Eiffel Tower and he set up his own camera to capture the moment.  When I heard this story, I knew how important photography was to this couple and I was determined to give them memories that would last a life time.

Another thing I’ve noticed while getting to know these two is how important family is in their lives.   Although she isn’t a professional wedding planner, Aly’s mother took it upon herself and helped her daughter plan this wedding with over 30 different vendors!!!!!!  I can’t even imagine how much dedication and time it took to plan such an elegant and beautiful celebration.  I do know one thing- when I arrived at Carver’s Cottage, it was clear that careful thought went into every single detail, flower, menu, and decoration.  Everyone did such a great job at putting Aly & Matt’s dream wedding together and I hope everyone is able to relive their special day through these photographs.

The dress-  holy moly!!!  I don’t think I’ve seen a dress as beautiful (and I’ve watched a lot of Say Yes to the Dress)!  Aly chose a gorgeous dress from Vogue Sposa and it couldn’t have been more perfect.  The lace, the bodice, and the deep V neck were breathtaking.  Matt kicked it up a notch as well with his suit!  I’m always so excited when the groom chooses something different than the typical grey or black attire.  And then there were the flowers.  As always, Aspen Florist did an amazing job creating the perfect peony inspired bouquets for the girls.  Although I’m sure you won’t miss it, the main showstopper in the tent- Birch Trees!!!  Yes!!!  Aly & Matt worked with Aspen Florist to turn the poles of the tent into beautiful trees that cascaded the reception area.  My eyes just about dropped when I walked in.  Although I have a million positive things to say about the bride and groom, the vendors who were hand selected, and the overall beauty of this wedding, I’m going to stop here so you can have a look for yourself.   All of the vendors are listed below, so if you see something that inspires you, please make sure you check them out.
